Using the beta
Terms, payments and refunds
Last updated: 24 August 2026
These terms apply when you use I Went Anyway, the invited AI Companion beta or make a founding supporter payment. By using the beta, you agree to use it responsibly and understand the boundaries below.
What the service is
I Went Anyway is an early-stage wellbeing tool for planning anxiety-provoking events, accessing short coping prompts, keeping personal reflections and, for invited adults, receiving AI-generated Companion replies. Features may change, pause or be withdrawn during the beta.
AI Companion limits
Companion replies are generated automatically and may be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable. They are limited to general wellbeing support. Check important information independently and do not use the Companion to make medical, safety, legal or other high-impact decisions. Access codes are personal to one tester and device, with five messages per day.
Not medical or emergency care
The service does not diagnose, monitor or treat any condition and is not a replacement for a GP, mental-health professional or emergency service. Seek medical advice for new, severe, persistent or worrying symptoms. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E.
Your responsibility
You remain responsible for decisions about attending, adapting, pausing or leaving an event and for seeking suitable professional support. Do not rely on the app where delay could create a risk to health or safety.
Founding supporter payment
The £19.99 payment is optional and one-off. It supports development of the early beta; it does not unlock medical care, guarantee future features or represent a charitable donation. Stripe processes the payment securely.
Cancellation and refunds
You may request a refund within 14 days of payment by emailing iwentanyway@outlook.com with the payment email and date. Approved refunds are returned through Stripe to the original payment method. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, submit unlawful material, share an invitation code, impersonate others or expose somebody else’s private information. Companion Cards should only be shared with people you trust.
Availability and liability
We take reasonable care in operating the beta, but it is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability or accurate AI output. To the extent permitted by law, I Went Anyway is not responsible for losses caused by relying on the service as medical advice, device loss, deletion of browser data or events outside reasonable control. We do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Changes
We may update these terms as the beta develops. The current version and date will remain available on this page.
Contact and law
I Went Anyway is independently operated from the United Kingdom. Contact iwentanyway@outlook.com. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without removing any mandatory rights you have where you live.
